Cabbage Maggot

Description: The maggot is 1/3" long, white, legless, with blunt rear end. Injury is almost entirely underground where maggots attack the roots of cole crops (broccoli, cabbage, etc.), making slimy tunnels in larger roots. Damage is worst when weather is cool and soil is moist. First signs of injury: foliage discolors and wilts during the heat of day.

Solution: Apply Grub-Away Nematodes at transplanting time, about 50,000 per transplant. Super-Light Insect Barriers provide an excellent shield from maggots by keeping adult flies from laying eggs on plants.
