Early Blight (Potatoes & Tomatoes)

Description: Problem for potatoes and tomatoes. Irregular brown spots show on lower leaves first. Lower leaves fall off, tomatoes are exposed to sun, causing sunscald. On old plants, it sometimes causes black, sunken spots near the stem end of tomatoes.

Solution: Begin applying Soap-Shield^® Fungicidal Soap or Copper Dust soon after setting out plants, then every 7-10 days. Reapply following rain. Apply more frequently if disease is increasing rapidly. Weed Barrier Mats prevent splashing from soil so blight spreads more slowly.
