Anthracnose
(Cucurbits)
Description:
Attacks most cucurbits in warm, wet weather. Infected
fruit develops circular brown to black sunken areas,
up to 1" across. Overwintering occurs in plant refuse
and on seed. Cucumber beetles and splashing water spread
spores.
Solution: For best
control, begin spraying with Soap-Shield® Fungicidal Soap
before the disease normally appears (when warm, humid
weather is the normal weather pattern). Repeat application
at 7-10 day intervals, more frequently if the amount
of disease is increasing rapidly. Use PyolaTM Insecticidal
Spray or Super-Light Insect Barrier to control
cucumber beetles.
