Septoria
Leaf Spot (Tomatoes)
Description: The most destructive of all tomato problems
Small brown spots appear on bottom leaves first. Leaves
gradually turn yellow and die as the disease works its
way upwards. Premature death of vine significantly reduces
tomato production.
Solution: Use Soap-Shield® Fungicidal Soap
or Copper Dust starting after setting
out plants, then every 7-10 days. Apply more frequently
if disease is increasing rapidly. Reapply after rain.
Weed Barrier Mats also help by keeping
fungi in the soil from splashing on leaves during rains.
Try a foliar spray of Liquid Kelp from the time plants
are set out to improve plant vigor. If possible, use
drip irrigation to avoid wetting leaves.
