: I purchased beautiful petunias which, although they were watered every day, appeared to be drying up and ultimately died, one by one.  I spoke to a local plant man who advised me not to water them in the evening but rather, to water them early in the morning.  I complied with his advice, however, they all continued to die.  Please advise me as to the best time to water petunias.  Also, should I be pinching off each flower as it completes its blooming stage to make room for new flowers.  Thanks for your help.
