I'm a 71 year old grandmother-we raised castor bean plants for beauty and shade (where we wanted it quickly)when I was a little girl. And, of course, we knew they are poisonous - so is tobacco (which we also raised to dry and mix with straw for our chickens' nests to deter lice - check out the poisonous power of nicotine), so is alcohol, and many other things - even what we call "food". Driving out of the driveway is suicide waiting to happen.

I'm sure that anyone who requests castor beans is aware of the dangers they carry. Thanks for the caring warning - anyway. Off to the Garden! :-)
