I don't want my tulips to die! posted by Jill on February 22, 2003 at 08:32:27: : I recently received a potted tulip as a gift and it has just finished blooming. Should I plant it now or wait until fall? If I wait, how should I care for it in the meantime? HELP! I really want to keep it! Thanks. Hi Jill, If the ground isn't frozen where you are, go ahead and plant now. If the ground is frozen, keep watering until you can plant. Let the foilage turn yellow and remove it when it comes away with a gentle tug. The dying foilage will supply food to the bulb for next years bloom. Good luck, |
