: I have just been fortunate enough to receive some tulip bulbs. The person they are from just pulled them from the ground - leaves & all. Should I wait until the fall to plant the bulbs? What do I with the bulbs in the mean time to make sure they will still be good by the fall.

: Thanks for any advice.

Hi Desiree,

Just plant them now at the same depth they were before with the leaves attached. The leaves will continue to make food for next years blooms. When they turn yellow they should be able to be removed with a gentle tug. Best to add some bulb food or bone meal to the soil when you plant.

Good luck,
Newt
