Wild Petunias????

We have recently moved into a new construction house and they have not landscaped as of yet. We are starting to notice all around the house lots and lots of Petunias in various colors. I didn't think they were wild because technically they are annuals. I realize that birds sometimes can carry seeds but there are WAY too many for that. Any insight into this?
