Competition Gallery
Our children's
holiday competition closes on 15th September but before
the winners are chosen, we thought we'd provide a preview
of some of the drawings we've received. And, for anyone
thinking of entering, there's still time.
Some of the younger
visitors to our site have been busy during the summer
months, putting coloured pens to paper and drawing entries
for our holiday competition. And we've received lots
of inventive, colourful pictures.
We asked you to imagine
George - our virtual gardener - helping out in your
garden. Your drawings show him doing all sorts of useful
things: filling pots, digging a hole for a pond, tying
up sweet peas. We also wanted to see what your favourite
flower or wild visitor was. The portraits of these garden
regulars have suggested that you have a distinct preference
for birds and butterflies. Illustrated are just a few
examples by Emma Carson (top), Nicole Hassan (above
left), Josie Owen (above right), and Alice Bennell (below).
Thanks to all of
you who've entered. We've really enjoyed seeing your
artwork. And for those of you who haven't sent anything
in yet, the competition is still open for entries: we've
extended the deadline to Friday 15th September. Why
not have a go and see if you could win one of the great
prizes that are up for grabs.
