: I have a huge aloe Vera plant and would like to start a few more off of it. i have been told that I can take an arm of it and plant it and it will grow but every time I do this it dies. I love aloe's but I can not seem to grow any other than what I buy. Any help in starting a new plant would be very much apperciated. Thankyou.

Hi Varco,

Some aloes form pups all by themselves and others don't do it often or at all. What you can do is remove a leaf, let sit on top of the soil, when the soil is dry, and it will form a callous where the cut was made in three or four days. Then you can plant the leaf.
