Darn! I have exactly the same problem (with several Aloes) & was actually hunting online to see if it would hurt the plant if I "replanted" it a little further into the soil.

Mine is not related to watering though, they have just grown gangly, so I don't think you have to worry about the watering (unless you watered it so much that rot has set in). I did read elsewhere that it's ok to take a sideways growing plant & re-plant it straight up (with he roots now at an angle), so I'm hoping that means it would be ok to plant an aloe deeper.

Since I have several this way, I might just experiment with one & let you know how it turns out. (Or if I find more info in my "hunt", I'll let you know. I would also appreciate anything you find out!

  - aloe plant leaves are dying after being planted. Part of the plant fell out of the large pot it was planted in and I then planted the small plant in a container and now the plant is dying. What can I do to help this plant Cathy 03:54:33 08/13/03 (1)
