replanting aloe vera plant

Hi,
A friend gave me two small a.v. plants he saved from getting bulldozed by new development. I didn't pot them up right away and want to know if I pot them up now, do you think they will live? They are still fat, and have a callous at the base. But, it's been about 2 weeks. What is the best way to treat them at this point?
