: I'm new at growing Aloa Vera plants and I don't know anything about their general care and feeding. Any help would be welcome. I got a plant (with a small root) from the desert. It hasen't died yet, but it doesn't look to good to me (kinda turning brown).

Hi Earl,

Please, please don't take plants from the wild. Most of them don't make it when you do. Plant collectors only collect seeds and then not all from one plant. Imagine of everyone of us did that. If you are that desperate for an aloe, send me your snail mail addy and I'll send you a couple of 'pups' from mine with directions on how to grow it.
