Help...damaged aloe!

Help...I have a relatively large aloe plant (about 12" tall) and one of my cats just sat in the middle of it, he completely broke off one of the leaves (are they called leaves?) and cracked another one. What should I do? Can I plant the broken ones? Should I cut off the cracked one (it is oozing gel)? HELP!
