my succulent needs your help!!

: hi, I have a succulent that was given to me as a present. The problem is I'm not sure what kind it is and the gift giver isn't so sure either. It has thick round green stems and very thick green leaves that fall off easily if you happen to touch them accidently. I haven't been able to find out what it is so I'm looking for someone who has an idea of what it might be. Right now the plant is sitting in a window that gets sun about half the day. It is doing alright as of right now, but before it was not looking so good. I believe I might have overwatered it.
