Erica darleyensis ( Jack H. Brummage Darley Dale Heath )

Erica x darleyensis is a cross between Erica carnea x Erica erigena. It is a low-growing, evergreen shrub with fine, needle-like foliage in medium green. Growth habit is bushy and height is usually 1 foot tall. Flowers can appear between fall and midspring, are urn-shaped, and come in white to rosy pink. A hardy heath that tolerates heat and cold as well as neutral soils. Heaths require good drainage, preferably sandy soil with organic matter, such as peat moss, and most like acidic soil. They rarely require fertilizing; good compost is usually sufficient. Cut back after flowering.
