Urbanol'mcnld, isn't Disneyland in Los Angelos? I've been there, both to Disneyland and to visit relatives that live in Los Angelos. I didn't find it as hot and dry as say Phoenix, Az. I'll bet there is a bog garden at Disneyland. I think the major problem would be lack of water during the hottest months and that could become costly. A bog garden in such a location would need shade from the hottest sun of the day and might be better placed in a shady location.
Btw, what is "oc" in reference to socal? I get it that socal would be southern California, but I don't know what "oc" means.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
