Weeping Larch Dilemma

Rate this Entry
My European Weeping Larch has dropped all its needles before I was able to get it in the ground. I have been watering it regularly, keeping the root ball wet and allowing proper drainage. Not sure what is goingon with this one. I had no problems with the one I planted in the backyard. Could it possibly be in a dormant state right now with all the heat? Could it have a blight and it's too late to save it? DebinOhio

    Howdy DebinOhio,
In regards to your Weeping Larch
Even though it appears to be an evergreen, the larch is actually deciduous, dropping its foliage in the winter.
It sounds like your doing all the right things, so don't worry too much, before you know it the new needles are going to appear.
Like many conifer trees/shrubs, they are hardy to zone 4.
    Happy Gardening,
