I have about 40 heirloom tomato plants in the ground have been for about three weeks .. I water every morning at 5 a.m. The plants arent growing half are the same size they were when i planted the others are about 14 inches but havent gotten any taller but all of them have blooms and half of them a big big bloom at the top of the main stem like theyre done growing up..????? I have gardened for years but never heirloom tomatoes .. Is this Normal???? Or am i doing something wrong please Help me!!!!!!!!!

    where do you live? temp at night?

    I live in North Carolina out by the Coast and temp has been warm at night since they were put in the ground.. The Coldest nights maybe twice got down to 46 but they seemed to be fine recently its been real warm at night and hot during day

    I saw your post via this forum and I live in NC, too have a certified organic farm where we mostly grow heirloom stuff and lots of tomatoes.
    Can you tell me a little more about your maters...varieties, etc? I might be able to help you out. Heirlooms originated in different locations and not
    all of them do well in our climate.

    Watering everyday and nutrient deficiency could be contributing. I would suggest adding some compost around the plant and a slow release (preferably organic) fertilizer such as Dr. Earth. Also, fertilizing with a liquid fish emulsion/kelp at 1 T. per gallon. If you spray it on the leaves they will absorb it right away and could correct some of the problem fairly quickly. Don't water unless the ground is beginning to dry. Stick you finger in to check.
    Do you know how tall the variety you planted is supposed to get?

    The Variety is Anna Russian pink Oxheart. And it seems that they are all just stopped but now like i said i have a garden every year and have had no problems before but first time planting these.. I bought them online and shipped from Hirts Nurseries in florida. My other tomatoes i bought at lowes are normal with quarter size tomatoes already.. I did however fertilize when i tilled the ground this year and use miracle grow liquid feeder once a week .. However every thing else is loving it.. My cabbage, cucmbers , peppers and watermelons all are fine.. Dont know i will post some pics to show you what im talking about..
