I'm sittin here listening to the sound of thunder in the sky. Since my last entry I have been slowly getting the beds ready to go. This year I pitch fork them, every other year I do, no reason, just that I like to get in and see whats going on in the dirt. I look for worm sign, stuff like that. So I get the good ol pitch fork out and start. I need to put in some peat and sand in some spots. I live in zone 5. We've had some good warm days, and yep this week I woke up to frost, lol. But back to warm now again. Nights are above 40 so I thought what the heck,,, my beds are raised so I planted 12 jalapenos, 4 beefsteak tomatos, 4 roma, a run of green onions also. I put a lavender on each side of my small azalea. I have to figure out what to do with the right side of the front of my deck.... I put very tall sunflowers in last year to help shade the little green house.... Looked pretty. My little green house sets 6.5 tall, 8' long n 4.5' across. Fits well on the deck. I just wish I had electric out there to keep it warm... I could plant so much more if it was heated...
Week ago Tuesday I did a royal job on myself and I yanked three muscles left side from my waist to my knee. Needless to say,,, I didnt get out back much. Lets just hope I don't do that again. Pretty much screwed up everything besides the garden on my "gotta do" list...
But it's gettin there. I still have chervil, basil, anise, summer savory and flat leaf parsely in my garden window still growin.... I am going to start more come Monday....
April is great for starting and gettin the gardens ready.. Soon I will post some pics of my gardens.....
Now I just hope that the rains do well and the starters I started take off. I did have to let my neighbor know that he should space his tomatoes out alot more.... He has no idea and I just could not not tell him. He honestly did not know that cherry tomato's should be at least 2 feet apart, he has his maybe 4 inches.... New to gardens,,, he is trying to plant to help the kitchen.... He has a tiller,,, I will help him with that to when he starts....

Happy gardening everyone!!!!!
