    azalia and roses

I live in Michigan which is zone 5. How do I get these 2 thru our winters? I received them for Mothers Day and would hate to lose them thru our winter. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you :?

Plant them in the ground adding lots of compost. The roses need full sun and lots of water and the azalea likes part sun to shade. Mulch with 3" of mulch and mulch again in fall.

    Good luck,

    Hi Butterfly,
I live in U.P. MI, also zone 5. I have both Azalea and Roses and they do fine.
You can make home-made tee pees from plywood or particle board to protect them from the heavy snow if they are out in the open. Newt has some great advice there!
