Butterfly bush wind damage..

Hello all,

With the recent storms in the mid-atlantic region, my butterfly bush took quite a bit of beating. It looks as though someone literally plowed through it. It is bent on 2 sides. Is there a way to salvage this bush? (ie. tying it with a string) Or just wait till next spring to trim down?

Without seeing it, I would recommend staking it and see if it recovers. I assume this is a Buddleia. Buddleia are weeds in the PNW and if this was in my backyard, I would prune it.

Yes, it's a buddleia. I think I'll give it a prune to lighten the load and see if it recovers. Thank you for your help!

Trust me.. it will bounce back after your prune.
