    Canna Lily

Last year I dug up some canna lily flowers and put them in pots in the basement over winter. Today when I went to take them out I was surprised that some have sprouted, some as high as a couple of feet, the leaves and stem are a yellowish green color. Should I cut them down? Here is a photo so you'll know what I'm talking about. Thanks.

    Hello there,
I would water them and put them in the shade, not bight sun yet.. they are yellow from lack of light. they should be OK. I would not cut the leaves off unless they don't green-up for you. once they perk up, gradually put them in brighter sun. probobly could use a dose of fertilzer too once they get going.
good for you for over-wintering the bullbs. that is not always successful for me.

Thanks for the advice. I've been storing them in the basement over winter for several years with no problem until now, never thought they would sprout in the basement. Guess I have a lot to learn about gardening. Thanks again.
