Canna from Seeds

I read an article that said you could start canna seeds indoors in early winter and then transfer outside in the spring.

My question is, how big will these get before then? I started about 30 and I'm now realizing I need a bigger house!! :lol:

How are your canna seeds doing?
Did they come up?

I always save canna tubers.
Each year one tuber will mulitply to make many tubers; that seems the easiest way to get lots and lots of cannas.

I have the big red hybrid cannas and also the old fashioned ones that make a red spike.
I store them in the basement with a little peat moss over them.
I occassionally sprinkle with a little water, so they won't dry out.
I also cover them with newspapers so they won't get light.

Cannas are 8" tall now and demanding more water and attention. Getting these little buggie things that I'm washing off every other day. Any idea what they are and what to do about them?
