    Composting

    Hello!
Last year was my first year at composting and I wasn't real sure I was going to be successful but, Hurrrrray!!!! I went out to the pile yesterday and shoveled off the last bit of snow and chipped off the top layer of frozen ground and was to excited to see black dirt with earthworms in it. Its so amazing isn't it? A friend asked me if I had ever put epsom salts on it, has anyone tried that. I am going to add some compost starter and get it cooking!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to those of you in this group who gave me all the great advice last fall it really did the trick. Thanks, Jenna

    Congrats on your compost!

I have never added it to compost, but I do put it directly on my vege garden. It contains micro-nutrients that help to keep plants happy. It seems especially helpful for my peppers.

    Hi Jenna,
This is wonderful news!! Isn't dirt fun? ;-) You might want to take a look at this site and save the epsom salt for the lawn or flower beds instead of the compost pile.
