After having this small property for 7 years, we just happened to be clearing the corner by the street and found 2 persimmon trees!! I picked a fruit yesterday and it is really small, like the size of a pecan, and it is hard. Do I have a persimmon tree that I can make jam from? Is the fruit supposed to be that firm? Or are they just not ripe yet? The color is the same orange as I have seen in pictures on the internet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dina :)
