help me identify this plant please.

i was given as a gift last christmas a plant. it has since been repotted an is doing very well. however, i have no earthly idea what it is. i thought if i try to describe it maybe someone would have an idea what it is .
its either a tree or a vine.(it isnt large enough to tell yet.) it is light to medium green in color. the leaves have six points. it seems to tolerate heat and humity very well as long as its watered regularly. it did extremely well over the summer when we had temperatures of over 100 some days. i leave it outside during the warm months, bring it in when temps reach 55 or so.
i appreciate any help you can offer. thanks :D

    Hi Grafted,

There are three that come to mind:

Botanical Wonder, Ivy Tree - x Fatshedera lizei

Tree Ivy, Japanese Aralia - Fatsia japonica

Hawaiian Schefflera, Schefflera (this one has some variegation on the lower leaves) - Schefflera arboricola

If those aren't your plant, take a look here to see if you can id your plant.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
