Hi Doctorragamuffin,
I've got a few that you should find helpful.
http://www.oplin.org/tree/
http://www.fw.vt.edu/dendro/forsite/Idtree.htm
http://www.arborday.org/trees/treeid.cfm
http://www.hort.uconn.edu/plants/keys/trees/keyhelp.htm
This one could work for 'fine tuning'.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
