Thread: Just curious...

I helped some "aquaintances" weed their overgrown garden as a favor...DH thought I was crazy because it took me 5 1/2 hours. All I can say is yeah, maybe I am crazy but maybe God was watching and the ole saying will come into play, what goes around comes around. ANYWAY, my question, how long does a horse nettle have to be in the ground before it starts to form those cherry tomato looking things?* This garden was LOADED with them, probably about as loaded as my fingers are with thorns about now!

This garden was also loaded with wire-grass, I would never wish that on my worst enemy! And those tall walnut tree looking weeds with the purple stems that smell really bad - what are those??

Just curious. Thanks if anyone knows! Dina :)

Karma, it's a good thing!* You poor dear.* Sounds like you should have worn rose pruning gloves that extend up the arms.* I have no clue how long it takes for the berries to ripen, but they are quite toxic.*

I've read about wire grass and that's some nasty sruff too.* I don't know what the nasty smelling weed is but maybe tree of heaven?

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
