Landscaping Ideas

Hello Everyone,

I am trying for the first time planting our first garden. I am excited yet confused. Does anyone know of websites I can find pictures of ideas on how to landscape the front of our house. I live in New York state so am not sure on what is good flowers to plant. The front of our house gets the sun first thing. Any help would be wonderful!!

I would pick up a copy of the Sunset Garden book for your area - they sometimes have good pictures. As for the net, you can also try posting on http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/upstateny/ - they are specific to your area. Come back when you have some more questions - I think there are a few people here from NY!

http://www.springgardencanada.com/ They have layout ideas and tell you exactly what to plant and where.

Or there is also some software where you can take a picture of your yard and play around by adding plants and shrubs. http://www.taoherbfarm.com (you have to buy this software, but you might be able to find software like this in your local library.
