Money Plant

I was given some money plany seeds back in April.. put them in a planter spread pretty heavy since about 10% of what I plant actually come up. I realize they are biannual so I wasn't expecting too much. I ended up with a planter full of approx. 3-4" high kind of a clovery looking weed. I read about purple flowers of which I had none. It is now starting to die off. Am I to just let it do it's thing and hope for the best next year? Something dosn't seem quite right but I have the blackest thumb around so please advise.

Money Plant only blooms in the second year, so hold on and sit tight. the pic is of money plant in it's first year.
