It's not so much the moss that will effect your plants, but the conditions that moss tends to grow in.* Moss likes acid soil that is compacted and moist.* If your plants like those conditions, then the moss shouldn't effect them.* Most plants prefer a pH from neutral to slightly acid.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
thank you for your response....I just figured moss would help hold the water also for the plants.* I just didn`t want the moss to take over.* Lime will get rid of moss , right?
I'm not sure how you mean, "Lime will get rid of moss , right?"* If you just sprinkle it on the moss I don't think that will be very effective.* It would be best to remove the moss, cultivate the soil while adding compost and lime, try and get more sunlight to the area by thinning shrubs and/or trees and that should help keep the moss away.
Maybe a picture and a full explanation of what you are trying to accomplish would be helpful.
