    Need advice on plants on my border logs

    I have some logs that are in the crepemyrtle that i need to plant. Any ideas on what to plant under the tree near the logs. It gets full sun 9 hours. I want some color that will last till fall if possible. zone8 Heres my picture. http://community.webshots.com/user/deb789

    Hi Deb,
    Nice pictures! Since the plants will be in full sun and competing for moisture from the tree roots, I would suggest plants that like it dry. If you want color all summer, you'll need to plant annuals. Think about:
    Lantana
    Verbena
    Portulaca - moss rose
    Salvia
