Hi, I live in the midlands of SC zone 8. I have a great source for egg shells and coffee grounds. I take the egg shells, wash and dry them then run them through the food processor until they are almost like sand.
This year when I plant my garden I plan to dig my holes a little deeper than needs be, then mix up equal amounts of egg shells, coffee grounds and compost, put some in the hole first, put my plants in and fill the hole up with the same mixture.
I plant tomatoes, squash, cucumber, different peppers, egg plant and corn. Do I have the right combination and if not recomment what you think would be better.
Also I want to build a small cold frame to try some lettuce in, is it too late and what would be the ideal ingredients to make tasty lettuce?

Thanks for all of your help,
Wade
