I have a New Zealand Flax which is too big for its current position.** I'd like to move it to a more spacious part of the garden.*** Is there a good or bad time to move it?** Is there anything in particular I need to do or look out for during the move.*** The flax has been in it's current position for about five years and is approx 4ft tall.

Hi Athena,
Unfortunately you don't say where in the world you are or what your hardiness zone is, but for most zones in the US where it's hardy, late February thru March is a good time.* Dig deep and wide.

I had remove five of these shrubs one day and it*wasn't a fun job at all.*** I had to divide the base into manageable sections to move.*
Transplant was easy, but I keep an eye on them and made sure they were watered.* I would recommend moving them in the fall before the first frost.* I'm in Zone 8.
