    Pneumonia grass virus??????

A co-worker was telling a group of us yesterday that you shouldn't rake your lawn until the ground is at least 50+ degrees. She said that the ground has a pneumonia virus that you can catch it if you rake too early, and you breathe it in. I have never heard anything like this, and was wondering if anyone here has? I work in a garden center and have never heard of this. Maybe she just is sick of raking

You should actually have your yard done before the ground temp reaches 50F because that is the temperature that crabgrass germinates, and if you are going to put a crabgrass control down it has to go on AFTER the raking is all done, but BEFORE the ground temp reaches 50.

I never heard of such a disease either. I went to an extensive medical dictionary and couldn't find a reference there either. It reminds me of sitings of Elvis! :-)
