Nice to meet ya'll! I'm from Durham, NC, and i really don't say ya"ll :) , but I felt the need for a southern influence. I'm very excited learning from everyone.
It's the long daylength which helps to make up for the shorter season. Glad to see a fellow Canadian here. we are the only ones I know of. Nice to meet you.
I'm pretty much a native Californian, having lived in Ventura for the past 35 years. (I'm 52), but about two years ago I moved to a little village in Baja California Norte called Bajamar. I know that Mexico gets allot of bad press, but frankly this place is a little slice of heaven. Especially if you like to garden, like hummingbirds, and don't mind the occasional howling coyote. I believe that we are geographically attached to zone 10, but our weather never gets too hot, so I'm inclined to think that we're more akin to either zones 8 or 9. At least I hope that the plants in the garden think so, because that's how I've managed them. I've attached a few shots of the casa, and the local beach front. Great sunsets, great climate, and the beer ain't too bad either.
