I am wanting to plant some large raised vegetable gardens but do not want to use treated lumber. I need ideas.

Stones, or the retaining wall blocks available at menards. Concrete blocks. Untreated lumber. Iron Girders.

I'm growing my first vegetable garden this year. So obviously, I'm no expert, although raised beds shouldn't be anything new. But I made an 8' X 8' square rasied bed using 4 8' recycled plastic railroad cross ties. These are pretty expensive ($20 each for me) and extremely heavy (guessing about 200 pounds), but they will last forever. So if your reasoning for not wanting to use treated lumber is because of the wood factor, this may be a good alternative. I'm not sure what the availability of these are in your area.

The next obvious choices are retaining walls and other stone edging if you're wanting something that looks good.

You could also use composite wood like Trex.
