    Hi guys,

im new to this growing thing, and recently got given some Sweet Million tomato seeds. I have grown them for about a week and am already seeing some shoots appearing.

Firstly, does anyone know about what size i should plant them into larger pots (8 seeds per pot that is about a mug size isnt enough room!)?

Secondly, when they are large enough to put outside, if i keep them in pots (larger ones obviously) then how big do the pots need to be?

finally, when the season is nearly over, can the seeds of the fruit be dried out and kept for next year or do i have to buy new seeds each year for this variety?

    Any help much appreciated!

    Thanks again

    Dan P-K

I have never grown tomatos in pots (wich dosn't mean it's not normal),but as a general rule once the roots just hardly make it out of the bottom of the current pot, you need a bigger one.

    Hope it helps!

    Hi Dan,

Here's how to transplant tomato seedlings.* Depending on the size of your seedlings when you divide them, a 6" pot would be a good size to start with.

Do keep in mind tomatoes are one plant you can plant deeper when you transplant.* They will form roots along the stem.* It will give them more roots and a stronger plant.* A 5 gallon pot would be good for growing your tomatoes for the summer.

So your tomatoes don't cross pollinate you will have to keep them separate from other tomato types by about 10'.* Here's how to save seeds from several different veggies.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Tomatoes will only last one season and then you'll need to replant.* :(*
