Welcoming Garden

I would like to know if anyone has a Welcoming Garden in the Front of there house?

If so would you change anything about it now since you have one and know what it looks like now?

I am thinking about do one and would like some ideals on what to look for and what not to add to it?

My garden is based on my zone and style.** It changes each month and has my own welcome enviroment.

I was thinking of planting bushes or peonies along both ends of the sidewalk up until a small border garden.

That would be a kind of welcome garden. :D

I read in a gardening book that people are naturally drawn to bright colors so I would suggest multi-colored flowering plants.
