    Flower Suggestion

I'm not a flower person so I'm seeking help here.

I tilled a 40 feet by 4 feet stretch of land and would like to plant flowers there, preferably by seed. The land is very rich and moist. The area is shaded until noon. I'd like the plants to not be over 2 feet high. I live in the mid Atlantic area. Also, keep in mind it is mid June.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Not that y'all are jumping to give a suggestion here, but I'd like to modify my description here. It turns out the area gets almost zero sunlight. When I looked the area today at 3:00 it was still in the shadows. Perhaps it got some sunlight after 5:00but then another shadow would have encroahed on it.

    So, any ideas?

Hey BigBubba. Ken here with The Home Depot in the Chicago area.
Here are some full shade perennials and annuals that will work in your area.

    Aruncus aethusifolius (Goat’s Beard)
    Dicentra (Bleeding Heart)
    Erythronium americanum
    Galax urceolata
    Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’
    Helleborus orientalis (Lenten rose)
    Impatiens
    Liriope
    Mertensia virginica
    Trillium (Wake Robin)
    Viola (Pansy)

All of these will need regular water. Enjoy the flowers. Take care.
