Gladiolas

Can anyone let me know if there is a way that you can control when your corms bloom? EG Date/Week/Month.

    Thanks

If you stagger the planting time by planting every 10 days to 2 weeks you will have a more continuous bloom. How long it takes the individual plants to bloom will depend upon several conditions such as how much sun and the soil temperature when planting.

Has anyone tried planting Glads in the middle of the summer ?* I decided to give it a try since the bulbs were on clearance.** I put some in very large pots and some in the ground.** One of the pots has 2 coming up after just a week or two.** I see no sign of life in the other places I planted them.**

    Hi Frostette,

Your potted ones are probably sprouting faster because the soil warms up more.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
