I am trying to identify an annual that is referred to as Macheyka in Polish.* Popular flower in Poland.* It's blooms open at dusk with a very fragrant scent.* Grows 1-2 ft high - may require trellis or some sort of support.* Looks like grass when the blooms are closed.* Flowers are blue or a shade between blue and lavender.* Tiny black seeds/pollen.* All my aunt remembers is that she found a packet of seed for this flower last year in central Canada and there was a reference to "Fragrance of Summer".* Please help me identify this plant.* Thank you!

Hi DP,
Night scented stock aka Matthiola longipetala or Matthiola bicornis comes to mind.* Does this look like what you saw? http://leslieland.com/blog/night-scented-stock/ Newt
