    crown of thorns

    hi all.

i have an out of control crown of thorns. it's basically one stalk, straight up, 2.5 feet tall. I did some searches and dont see any other ones with the same shape. it's basically getting too high to support itself and is starting to lean. if i move it i feel like the whole thing may fall over.

    any suggestions??

    thanks,

    anicon

    Hi Anicon,
Your crown of thorns is known botanically as Euphorbia milii. You need to cut it back and you can root the cuttings. Leave the cuttings in a shady place for two days so the ends can form a callous. They have a milky sap that some people are allergic to. Don't let it splash on your skin or in your eyes. Root them is some moist sand, moist potting soil or moist perlite. Take a look here.

    Blonde Mommy,
If you had clicked on the links supplied to the poster, you would know the hardiness zone and then know if it can be grown outdoors. Most plants can be outdoors during the summer.

    Anicon,
You are very welcome! I hope it roots for you. Just think that chocolate is brown and white chocolate looks weird too and it might be too gross anymore.
