It is a succulent and is related to the Jade plant aka Jade tree aka Crassula ovata.* Your plant is finger jade aka Crassula argentia 'Hobbit' aka Crassula hobbit, sometimes called 'horntree'.* Lots of bright light or full sun.* Water when the top of the soil is dry.* Drain water away well.* If you forget to water your plant, no problem.* it can do better underwatered then overwatered.
I can't quite tell from your pictures, but I suspect your plant has mealy bugs.* It's doesn't look like you have many, so I would recommend you dab them with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol.* I don't any of the toxic pesticides they recommend.* From this site about one quarter down the page.
"Control of mealy bugs:[/b] If there are only numbers of mealy bugs to be dealt with, dabbing a little methylated spirit (industrial alcohol, denatured alcohol) will kill them. Some people also spray their plants with methylated spirit diluted at least 1:3 with water. If you try this, remember that the fumes are potentially toxic and flammable and the liquid could harm the epidermis of delicate plants."
You can also use insecticidal soap once you remove them with the alcohol.* You can make your own or purchase some.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
