More Q's about Aloe Plants
Hello!
About 2 years ago I rescued an aloe plant from WalMart. What was once a sad, dry little plant has grown into a large, fat, beautiful, aloe plant. My concern for it is that the bottom stems are so big and heavy that they've bent themselves and caused creases all the way through. I've tried tying them up but that doesnt seem to help. Should I just cut them off before they start to rot?
Also, what is the best way to repot a larger aloe without hurting or breaking its stems? Mine has been living in its current pot since I repotted it the day I brought it home and I'm beginning to wonder if it needs more room. What are the symptoms of a root-bound aloe plant? I've never been successful with aloes before and I'd hate to ruin this one. Thanks!

Hi Joneus,
Sounds like your aloe is very happy. This site should give you lots of helpful info.

When you go to repot it, just wrap the bottom third or half in a towel if it's very large or use folded newspaper as a wrap to keep the leaves from getting damaged. This site should be helpful too.
