    Need help identifying cacti

I have 4 cacti that I would really appreciate help in identifying...or if someone knows of a good webpage to help in identifying cacti and succulents that would be wonderful!! Thanks so much for your help!

This cacti "blooms" once a year, a long spindly shoot comes out of the middle and has a single tiny pinkish flower on the end.

I just got this one about a week ago, know nothing about it!

My boyfriend and I call this the banana plant because they kinda look like little bananas...the thing took off like crazy, it started off as one little shoot and now we have 3 pots full of it!

Not sure what it is...but it's awesome in size!!!

Three of the four that I just posted, I received in a little set of six from wal-mart, they were in tiny little terracotta pots and I transplanted them and they just took off and became beautiful!! Thanks again for all of your help!

    Hi Garden Girl,

Lovely!! None of them are cactus. They are all succulents though.

    #1 is probably a haworthia
#2 is probably a sempervirens or echeveria
    #3 is probably a crassula
    #4 is probably an aloe

If those links don't id your plants, then try this one. LOTS to click on.

Have fun! I'd love to know if you id them.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

    Newt,
Thank you so much for your quick response! As I was reading through the forums I saw a lot of messages about how it takes a long time for some posts to get answered, so I really appreciate your quickness(is that a word?) in responding to me! I definetly agree on the identifications you found, and the websites were wonderful and very helpful! I'm still searching for the third succulent, but hopefully I will find some information about it now! I also found this other website, that was really neat because it had tons and tons of pictures, and it helped me make some decisions on what other succulents I would like to add to the collection! Here is the website...

Again, I thank you for your response and helpful information!
    Happy growing!

    Garden Girl,

You are very welcome!! I just happened to stop by and saw your post so it was fortunate that I was able to answer you so quickly. This is a rather inactive forum and I don't stop by too often in winter. Now that it's spring I stop more often to see if there are questions I can answer, but I don't run or own this forum.

That's a great site you found and I'm going to save it so I can use it to help others. I hope you will be able to id them all.

Now don't spend all of this week's grocery money on plants! ;)

    Take care,
    Newt
