Hi Roger,
Unfortunately you don't say what herbs you are growing, but for most, the young and tender leaves are the best ones for cooking, so it's best to continually pinch them. When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. |

I cut mine back in the mornings before the heat gets to them, I also make sure they are not flowering. I cut those off. Trimming keeps them healthy and for me. I use them fresh in the summer time and dry them for the winter use in the kitchen. ;) Winddancer |
