here is two pics of the mint that is growing down the road, my boyfriend says it's spearmint, he maybe right, is he or is it some other kind?

there are two pics one is an up close.

I think that would require a botanist.* There are so many mints I wouldn't know where to start.* You could ask the folks from this botanical garden and see if they would know.* Be sure to add your state and hardiness zone as it's located in British Columbia, Canada.* Here's the main forums page.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
